Description
The first-ever virtual NHL draft in the 58-year history. The New York Rangers selected, Alexis Lafrenière, from Saint-Eustache, Quebec, with the No. 1 pick in the 2020 NHL Draft. The 18-year-old Lafrenière at the time was leading the QMJHL with 112 points (35 goals, 77 assists) in 52 games when the season was halted due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Lafrenière had 114 goals, 183 assists and 297 points in 173 games over three seasons with Rimouski. Lafrenière earned CHL rookie-of-the-year honors in 2017-18 and CHL player of the year last season and joined Crosby for this honor when he won the award a second time in 2019-20. These two are the only players to ever win back-to-back QMJHL MVPs.
Lafrenière has autographed this “Draft Day” 20×24 designed image in black paint pen. His signature is deemed authentic by virtue of Upper Deck Authenticated’s Five-Step Process.
