Following one All-America season at LSU, Ben Simmons declared for the NBA Draft, and the Philadelphia 76ers chose him first overall in 2016. After sitting out the 2016-17 season with an injury, Simmons made his NBA debut on 10/18/17. He notched a double-double in his debut and recorded triple-doubles on a consistent basis the rest of his rookie campaign. But more impressive than that was the leadership the Australian native showed from day one. He brought a calming voice and steady on-court leadership qualities to a young Sixers team.
