The city of Edmonton is located on the North Saskatchewan River in the Canadian province of Alberta. The river is glacier-fed and bisects the city. The cold winters in Edmonton causes a deep freeze that creates awesome skating options. The capital of Alberta has several nicknames such as Festival City, City of Champions as well as River City.
