Description
For an athlete to appear on a Sports Illustrated Cover there must have been a certain level of achievement and significance obtained already in his or her career. The appearance of Dennis Rodman on the cover of the March 8, 1999 Sports Illustrated Edition showcased Rodman, who had won 5 NBA titles and numerous personal awards in his career, dressed in the iconic purple and gold Lakers uniform. Upon joining the Lakers Rodman was nearing the end of his career and at age 37 had already won all of the titles and awards he was going to win in his time playing. With that said there is significance in drawing attention to the fact that the Hall of Famer Rodman donned the same purple and gold threads as other past Laker greats Magic Johnson, Kareem Abdul-Jabbar, Kobe Bryant, Shaquille O’Neal, and so many others.
This Sports Illustrated cover print from March 8, 1999, is autographed by Dennis Rodman. Rodman’s signature was witnessed by an Upper Deck representative as part of UDA’s 5-step authentication process. This item is limited to 73.
