Description
Jack Nicklaus opened the 1972 season by winning The Masters Tournament in April. Only three golfers before that year had won the first two majors of the calendar. Nicklaus become the fourth with a dominant victory at the U.S. Open at Pebble Beach Golf Links in Pebble Beach. Nicklaus led each round by one stroke before winning by three over Australian Bruce Crampton. Friend and on-course rival Arnold Palmer finished six strokes behind in third place. It was Nicklaus’ 11th major win in his career. He would go on to win seven more majors to give him a record of 18 that may never be broken.
Nicklaus has autographed this limited edition (100) 1972 U.S. Open pin flag in black paint pen. His signature is deemed authentic by virtue of Upper Deck Authenticated’s Five-Step Process.
