Description
The reverse layup and reverse dunk were not invented by Julius Erving. But it wouldn’t be a stretch to say his addition of flair, grace and style helped him perfect it. In this image printed on a layer of acrylic, Erving is in the middle of executing a classic Dr. J layup. The image came from Erving’s days with the New York Nets of the now-defunct ABA. Three things stand out in this image: the vibrant color combinations of the uniforms and basketball, the style of his move and the style of his classic hairdo. Dr. J’s signature is the centerpiece of this UDA-designed piece of sports art from our line entitled “The Show.” It comes framed and measures 46” x 20” overall for a museum-quality piece that will be the highlight of any wall it adorns. This version is called “Julius.” Erving’s huge autograph is signed using a thick black marker. His signature is deemed authentic by virtue of Upper Deck Authenticated’s Five-Step Process.
