Description

While the career of Lakers great Magic Johnson was coming to a conclusion, two of the next great point guards were starting to find their rhythm as the game’s next great distributors. The era was the late 1980s-early ’90s, and Cleveland’s Mark Price and Utah’s John Stockton were establishing themselves as outstanding passers who could score, much like Magic did for the Showtime-era Lakers. For a period of approximately eight years during this time, Price and Stockton ran 1-2 in point guard rankings. While both were outstanding distributors Ð Stockton often led the league in assists and Price was in the top 10 Ð Stockton was known for his defensive prowess while Price was more known for his shooting. They combined for 14 All-Star Game appearances and provided countless memories in their 1-on-1 matchups. Stockton finished his career as the leading assist and steals man in NBA history while Price ranks second in career free throw percentage and 31st in 3-point field goal percentage. Here, Price is driving to the lane against Stockton in one of their epic battles of the past. Price has signed this Price vs. Stockton 8″ x 10″ image in silver paint pen. His signature is deemed authentic by virtue of Upper Deck Authenticated’s Five Step Process.
