Description
The NBA Draft began in 1950 with the Boston Celtics selecting Chuck Share with the No. 1 overall pick (the BAA actually held a draft 1947-49). The Philadelpha 76ers drafted first overall for the first time as a franchise in 1973 and made Illinois State guard and future head coach Doug Collins the pick. The Sixers made another guard their choice in 1996 when they tabbed future Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame point guard Allen Iverson. Fast forward 20 years and the Sixers selected point forward Ben Simmons first overall. The very next season, Philadelphia lucked into the top pick again and made Washington point guard Markelle Fultz their selection. Fultz has autographed and inscribed “#1 Pick ’17” on this limited edition (120) authentic Spalding basketball in silver paint pen. His signature and inscription are deemed authentic by virtue of Upper Deck Authenticated’s Five-Step Process.
