Description
When Michael Jordan was drafted by the Chicago Bulls out of the University of North Carolina in 1984, he brought instant expectations to a city starved for basketball success. But no pressure could be greater than the pressure MJ put on himself. One of the world of sport’s most intense competitors, Jordan would famously not accept failure. So when he set out to bring a championship to Chicago, nothing got in his way. Before he retired for good, he brought six NBA Finals titles to the city of Chicago. Like in this designed image, he carried the city on his shoulders at times. The title of this piece comes from a famous poem by Carl Sandburg first published in 1914 to honor the city’s place in agriculture and industry. Jordan has autographed this limited edition (123) “City Of The Big Shoulders” 40” x 25” designed image in silver paint pen. His signature is deemed authentic by virtue of Upper Deck Authenticated’s Five-Step Process.
