As if there was any doubt who the dunk king was before the 1987 Slam Dunk Contest happened, Michael Jordan put it to rest with some of the most memorable dunks of all time. This event in Seattle featured the first Jordan free-throw line dunk, which he duplicated the next year in Chicago to clinch the title there. But the dunk featured in this sequence was memorable for its incredible act of athleticism. Coming in from the left baseline, Jordan took off almost sideways, double clutched, then brought the ball forcefully through the hoop for the perfect 50 that clinched his first career Slam Dunk Contest title. The legend of Air Jordan was now worldwide. The bottom portion of this piece shows his scores in all three rounds as well as the unique logo that was created for that All-Star weekend. It’s then double-matted and framed to give it a classic finished look. Jordan has autographed this limited edition (123) framed ‘Kiss the Rim’ 36″ x 18″ designed image in silver paint pen. His signature is deemed authentic by virtue of Upper Deck Authenticated’s Five-Step Process.
