Description

This framed “Championship Shots” jersey numbers piece, pays homage to a feat that no other professional basketball player has ever accomplished: hitting the game-winning shot in both the 1982 NCAA National Championship game and in the 1998 NBA Finals. MJ is in rare historical company when it comes to collegiate basketball players who have been able to win both an NCAA and NBA title. Only 36 players in history have earned championships at both levels. So for Jordan to be the only person in that select group to hit the winning shot in the most pressure-filled game at each levels is even more amazing. In the 1982 NCAA Championship game during his freshman year at the University of North Carolina, Michael Jordan sank the game-winning shot with 17 seconds left to beat a talented Georgetown Hoyas team led by Patrick Ewing. Sixteen years later as a member of the Chicago Bulls, Jordan swished another game-winner with 6.6 second left to take down the Utah Jazz and clinch his sixth NBA title. This 28″ x 18″ UDA-designed image features a signed UNC Tar Heels blue #2 jersey number next to a black #3 Chicago Bulls jersey number. The framed jersey numbers piece measures 32″ x 22″ overall. Michael has signed the #2 in black pen. Jordan’s black signature has been deemed authentic by virtue of Upper Deck Authenticated’s Five-Step Process.
