Description

In the mid 1980’s, the NBA decided to improve their All-Star weekend experience by showcasing their brightest stars by incorporating events on Saturday night. NBA All-Star Saturday Night is now an annual event that brings out fans and celebrities alike for a night of great entertainment. In 1984, the NBA reintroduced the slam dunk competition at the All-Star game in Denver. Michael Jordan participated in the event three times and won in spectacular fashion in 1987 and especially in 1988 with his historic free throw line dunk. Two years later, 1986 the NBA added the Three-Point Shootout to All-Star Weekend. Larry Bird won the first three competitions (1986-88) supplanting his legacy as one of the greatest three point shooters of all time. This “All Star Saturday Night” design pays homage to two of the greatest participates that ever competed in their respective event. Each Hall of Famer has signed this limited edition (50)20″x24″ metallic photo in black paint pen. Their signatures are deemed authentic by virtue of Upper Deck Authenticated’s Five Step Process.
