Paul Coffey was selected in the first round of the 1980 NHL® Draft, sixth overall, by the Edmonton Oilers® after a successful campaign with the Sault St. Marie Greyhounds and Kitchener Rangers. In his rookie season, Coffey recorded 32 points. He followed that up with an incredible 89 points in his sophomore season.
