There are talented golfers, and then there are talented golfers who are trailblazers. Shanshan Feng is the latter. Ever since she picked up a club at the age of 10, she has made it clear to anyone who watched her that she’s good enough to play among the best in the world. She qualified for a spot on the LPGA Tour for the 2008 season after finishing ninth in a qualifying tournament at the end of ’07. It wasn’t an easy road from there as she continued to get better while competing against the world’s best female golfers. It all came together at the 2012 Wegmans LPGA Championship at Locust Hill Country Club in Pittsford, New York. Driving the ball with force and accuracy, she made the cut and steadily climbed up the board to give herself a chance on Sunday. Shooting a bogey-free final round of 67, she captured her first LPGA Tour win while also becoming the first player (male or female) from mainland China to win a golf major. It was her first career win and catapulted her into the top five in the Women’s World Golf Rankings. This designed image pays homage to her amazing accomplishment. It features four action images from that weekend along with calling out her historic accomplishments. Feng has autographed this limited edition (25) “Making History” 16” x 24” designed image in black paint pen. Her signature is deemed authentic by virtue of Upper Deck Authenticated’s Five-Step Process.
