There are talented golfers, and then there are talented golfers who are trailblazers. Shanshan Feng is the latter. Ever since she picked up a club at the age of 10, she has made it clear to anyone who watched her that she’s good enough to play among the best in the world. She qualified for a spot on the LPGA Tour for the 2008 season after finishing ninth in a qualifying tournament at the end of ’07. It wasn’t an easy road from there as she continued to get better while competing against the world’s best female golfers. Driving the ball with force and accuracy, she made the cut and steadily climbed up the board to give herself a chance on Sunday. Shooting a bogey-free final round of 67, she captured her first LPGA Tour win while also becoming the first player (male or female) from mainland China to win a golf major.
