Description

A native of Brantford, Ontario Wayne Gretzky is a hockey icon in his home country. Wayne was 16 years old when he first donned the National red and white sweater as member of the 1978 World Junior team. He was the youngest participant, but managed to lead the tournament in goals and was named an all star. His individual dominance continued as he grew older and the national team began to flourish. Gretzky played on four Canada Cup teams (1981, 1984, 1987, 1991) winning the gold medal three times. The 1998 Winter Olympics in Nagano, Japan were Wayne’s eighth and last international competition as a member of the storied Canadian National Team. He left international play as the record holder in goals, assists, and most overall points in best on best hockey. This 36”x18” five image collage ‘Homeland ‘pays homage to the greatest Canadian born hockey player ever. Wayne Gretzky has inked his name in black paint pen. We framed this image and it measures “40×22”. Gretzky’s signature was witnessed under UDA’s Five-Step Authentication Process.
